.NET Branding Evolution

In my role within the .NET product, I played a key part in embedding the refreshed brand identity into the .NET experience. Following the 2022 brand update—which introduced a new color palette, typography set, and gradients—I collaborated closely with cross-functional teams to ensure these elements were applied consistently and effectively. My focus was on establishing use cases for these new brand components, as they were still fresh and required contextual integration across digital and graphic assets. This approach allowed us to maintain a cohesive brand experience that resonated with the developer audience.

3D design explorations

As part of my design work for .NET, I explored innovative approaches to bring visual depth to our assets using Spline, a 3D design tool that had not been previously used by our team. I pioneered this effort by translating a design I initially created in Figma into Spline, transforming it into a 3D piece that offered more dimension and engagement. This exploration opened up new possibilities within our design toolkit, inspiring further experimentation with Spline. By introducing this tool, I enabled myself and other designers to create 3D assets directly, reducing our dependency on dedicated 3D designers and adding a fresh layer of creativity to our work

Elevating .NET through Branding and Design

I’ve crafted a wide array of branding and visual assets to create a cohesive and impactful identity across all platforms. My work encompasses digital and physical materials, all designed to strengthen .NET's brand presence within the developer community. This includes:

  • Data and Code Visualizations: Developing visually engaging ways to represent complex data and code, ensuring clarity and consistency while communicating technical information effectively.

  • Digital and Physical Swag for .NET Conf: Designed both digital and physical swag for .NET Conf, .NET’s largest annual event held every November, enhancing attendee engagement and brand recall.

  • Comprehensive Imagery Work: From presentation templates to website assets, I’ve contributed to the consistent and on-brand visuals that define .NET’s digital footprint.

Through these diverse design projects, I aim to create visually compelling, high-quality assets that reflect .NET’s brand values and resonate with our developer audience.

What I've learned...

Brand Consistency: Ensuring all design elements, from digital assets to physical swag, align with established brand guidelines is essential for maintaining a strong and cohesive brand identity.

Designing for the Audience: Focusing on .NET’s developer community has taught me how to create engaging, clear, and effective designs that communicate technical content in a way that resonates with the audience.

Innovation Within Constraints: Working within the boundaries of an existing brand has strengthened my ability to push creative limits while staying true to the core identity, ensuring fresh yet consistent visuals.
